A Word from the Pastor
When I was called to the Ministry, I did not have the vision of
being a pastor – I simply wanted to serve the Lord and preach His
Word. Now, 16 years
later, the Lord has led me to Mt. Zion Baptist Church and has led
Mt. Zion Baptist Church to choose me as their pastor. I am humbled
by their decision and will work diligently to meet the needs of the
church.
Pastor Madden led Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 47 years, and it is
indeed an honor and a privilege to follow such a distinguished man
and servant of God. I
am excited about this opportunity and it is my prayer that I will be
an instrument for the Lord, bringing people to a saving knowledge of
Christ – not only by extending the invitation to Christ at each
service, but through our many ministries.
The Mt. Zion Church family is a wonderful group of people.
They are genuinely caring and loving.
I am so blessed and appreciative to be a part of this church.
I will continually pray that we work together in a way that
will be pleasing to the Lord.
There will obviously be many administrative responsibilities
that come with being the pastor, but my Spiritual responsibilities
remain the same as they were 16 years ago - for I am here to serve
the Lord.
While I am pastor of this great church, I will lean on the words in
Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me”.
God bless all of you and I hope to see you soon.
